You'd have to REALLY stretch it to do that...

It's English form is suggestive enough, Seed of Life? Maybe a generational thing, but I know I heard guys say they were Planting their seed growing up. I won't go further, and it's obvious they evolved that name from Healing Seed since it's essentially an elite (but not) form of that.

I'm not sure what the goal of people here is though. Maybe it's just beat into me, but it's not hard to understand: Their game, their rules. Hypocritical or not. This is not the only game that does this... it's not Anet's devious invention.

If a name can be misconstrued as offending, that is the problem of the person who named it. It's childish if someone reports it out of spite, but they wouldn't have any ground to stand on if the name was fully appropriate.

Like I said earlier, it doesn't matter if you or me don't find something offensive. It doesn't matter if a word has a pure definition, because almost all words have multiple definitions and all apply regardless of intention when you are in the world of anonymity. Seriously guys, you know better, we all know better. It's ridiculous to deny it.

Seme Della Vita would need to be translated in the Latin anyone else learn Etymology in college? How about Medical terminology?

Seme = Semen
della = of / from the
Vita = Vitality or Life, Male in nature origin.

Thats what he was referring to from the Latin. "Seed of Life" would be the closest relation in English from "semen from some living guy" in the Latin.

Is an excellent source for information on words. I have some knowledge of Medical Terminology from college so I recognized the root translation right away.

Nice Spot there DarkGanni... and I did not mean that literally.

While this thread has only had 2 posts in it with back and forth flaming, I'm going to close it anyway.
For one, while there are great points here, you're preaching to the choir, for the most part. You don't have to convince me, or other forum posters of anything in your protests of bans, forced renames, and name filters; Anet, or more specifically, the PlayNC support team in charge of handling the cases are the arbitrators of these issues, and neither mine nor your opinion matters in the decision. This alone would not necessitate closure, since we discuss a lot that will never impact the decisions made regarding the game.

The flames are why this thread is closed. It's only 2 now, but I have seen these threads since I started posting on guru in early 2005, and there has never been a thread on offensive names and bans for them that has not turned into a flame war when left to its own devices. I've left multiple open over time, every few months, and always regretted it.

I'm not doing it this time. The thread's already had some flaming, and there's no reason to give it a chance.

If you want to contest a name ban, please contact the PlayNC support site regarding your issue, give the necessary details, and pray for the best.

I'm going to be a little unprofessional and add historical point to mull over, and interpret as you will;

Since this is a closing post, following a moderation action, I'm not going to spell out my opinion, for or against Anet, but I think it's very important to consider when you're talking about this subject. I strongly advise looking it up as you contemplate this subject, in respect to Anet's, or more specifically, the PlayNC support team's decisions.
